Need to Know Info

The minimum age to volunteer at the Food Bank on Saturdays is 8.

Children and students who are younger than 18 must have a parent or guardian sign a liability waiver. Waivers can be signed at the Food Bank on Saturday morning.

For safety reasons, volunteers are not permitted to wear open-toed shoes in the Food Bank wherehouse.

The exact nature of the work we'll be doing will not be known until we arrive on Saturday morning.

In recent years we have worked outside, in the warm morning sun of Potrero Hill, sorting various fruits and vegetables.

In other years we have sorted and packed food boxes for distribution, or, we took a large inventory of one type of food and broke it down into smaller quantities.
